We are one of the largest refiner and marketer of petroleum products, and our chemical company is one of the largest in The Republic of Kazakhstan.

Safeguarding health, safety, security and environmental protection is a priority for us. In our HSSE Policy, we commit to preventing all accidents, injuries and occupational illness, and to protect the environment. We therefore continually optimize all of our subsidiaries’ activities with a view to technical, organizational and behavior-based safety and promote a proactive safety culture. The Company has adopted and adheres to the Sustainable Development Policy. It defines objectives, tasks and operating principles of the Company in the field of sustainable development, approaches to interaction with stakeholders, reporting principles. Health, Safety, Environment And Quality

We are committed to providing services that meet our customers ‘ needs and expectations for quality, productivity and safety, while fostering a business culture that educates, develops and encourages our people to continuously improve all aspects of our operations. Health, safety and environment (HSE) is implemented at all levels of our business and integrated into our quality assurance system; new employees get a complete picture of Aktau Transit as soon as they start their work. All information about the company is archived electronically. Unwanted incidents and deviations from the procedure are logged on our intranet using web-enabled mobile devices. These procedures allow Aktau Transit to maintain an optimal HSE system that is always up to date and available online from anywhere in the world.

The functioning of the refinery is associated with increased requirements for industrial fire safety of production, as well as labor protection. Implementation of organizational and technical measures aimed at prevention of emergency situations, reduction of consequences and preparedness for their localization allows to limit the level of risk both for employees of Aktau Transit and for the population within acceptable limits.

Environmental Monitoring Policy

  • The main activity of Aktau Transit’s Environmental Department in the sphere of environmental monitoring has been to carry out quantitative and qualitative monitoring of harmful wastes in gaseous, liquid and solid forms emitted to the atmosphere as a result of natural and anthropogenic impacts at enterprises and companies subordinated to Aktau Transit, on scientific grounds with the purpose of assessing and forecasting the conditions of air, water and soil environment, implementing regular control and research system defining their chemical content, degree of contamination, radioactive and hydro-biological features and physical characteristics.

AKTAU TRANSIT REFINERY

Kazakhstan

The first batch of 80,000 tonnes of Kazakh oil was shipped from the Turkey’s Ceyhan terminal in the direction of the Romania’s Constanta Port for its local refinery, the press service of the Samruk Kazyna National Wealth Fund reports. It should be noted that, according to the five-year agreement signed last year, up to 1.5 million tonnes of oil will be annually shipped along the Aktau-Baku-Ceyhan route. Kazakhstan started shipping its oil in the Aktau-Baku direction in March. As of April 20, 86,000 tonnes of Kazakh oil were shipped from the Aktau port.
